Special Procedures

Skin outgrowths such as moles, warts, skin tags, and keloids are common concerns for many people.

Precision Removal, Minimal Downtime

While they are usually harmless, they can often become a source of discomfort, irritation from clothing, jewelry, or shaving, or simply affect one’s confidence due to appearance. At JPM Dermatech Clinic, we offer a range of advanced, targeted procedures to address these issues. Using the latest technologies such as Radiofrequency (RF), Laser Removal, and Electric Cautery, we can safely remove unwanted skin lesions with minimal pain, scarring, or downtime. For raised scars or thickened skin, especially keloids, we provide specialized injections and treatments that help flatten and soften them over time.

RF & Laser Mole/Wart Removal

Skin outgrowths such as moles, warts, and skin tags are common concerns that, while usually harmless, can become a source of irritation or self-consciousness. This modern treatment uses the combined power of radio waves (RF) and focused light (laser) to get rid of unwanted moles and warts safely and well.

  • The RF method uses gentle heat from a small tool to carefully remove the growth, which also helps to stop bleeding and heal cleanly for good cosmetic results.
  • The laser method uses targeted light that’s absorbed by the color in moles or the blood in warts, making them break down and go away.

We choose whether to use RF or laser based on what the mole or wart looks like, how big it is, and where it is on your skin, so we can give you the best and most effective way to get clearer and healthier skin.

Electric Cautery | Keloid Treatment

Electric cautery is a method where we use a small tool with a heated tip to carefully burn away skin growths that are just on the surface, like those little skin tags you might get, or some rough, raised spots called seborrheic keratoses, and even some types of warts. The heat helps to destroy the unwanted tissue and also seals off the area to prevent bleeding.

When it comes to keloids, which are those tough, raised scars that can grow bigger than the original cut or injury, electric cautery might be used at the beginning to help reduce the size of the keloid.

However, because keloids are known for coming back, we usually combine cautery with other treatments that are known to help, like giving shots of medicine (usually steroids) right into the scar to calm down the swelling and stop it from making too much scar tissue.

We might also suggest using special silicone sheets or gels that you put on the keloid to help flatten it over time and make it less noticeable. So, for keloids, cautery is often just one part of a bigger plan to manage them.
