Special Skin Care

We recognize that the skin of infants, children, and adolescents possesses unique characteristics compared to adult skin. It is often more delicate, more prone to irritation, and can be affected by a range of conditions that are specific to or more common in these age groups.

Growing Skin, Growing Needs

Due to these differences, standard adult dermatological approaches may not always be appropriate or effective. Our clinic provides specialized dermatological care that is specifically designed to address the distinct needs of our younger patients. This includes using gentler examination techniques, selecting treatments that are safe and suitable for developing skin, and taking into account the unique ways in which skin conditions can present and progress in children. We also understand the concerns of parents and caregivers, and we prioritize clear communication, providing thorough explanations of diagnoses and treatment plans, and offering guidance on appropriate skincare routines for children of all ages.

Newborn & Pediatric Skin Diseases

Taking care of the skin of babies and children needs a special, gentle approach because their skin is more delicate and can react differently than adult skin. We have doctors who are experts in all the skin problems that can affect kids, from the time they are born until they become teenagers. We are very good at figuring out what’s causing their skin issues and using treatments that are safe and just right for their young age.

This includes common problems like:

  • Eczema: Can make their skin itchy, red, and dry.
  • Birthmarks: Like those red patches called hemangiomas or moles that are there from birth.
  • Skin infections: Like impetigo (which can cause sores) or fungal infections (like ringworm).
  • Acne: Can start even in younger children, and we have safe ways to help manage it.
  • Lots of other kinds of rashes and skin problems that are more common in childhood.

We are skilled at finding out what they are and how to treat them in a way that’s comfortable and effective for kids.

Treatment for White Spots Surgery

For people who have vitiligo, a condition where the skin loses its color and gets white patches, we offer surgical ways to try and bring the color back. These surgeries involve taking pigment-producing cells (called melanocytes) from areas of your skin that still have their normal color and moving them to the white patches. There are different surgical methods we might use like:

  • Taking tiny plugs of skin (punch grafting),
  • Using the top layer of skin from blisters,
  • Even using cells grown in a lab.

The best method depends on how much vitiligo you have and where it is. These procedures can really help to make your skin tone more even and reduce how noticeable the white spots are, which can make a big difference in how you feel about your appearance.
